Retired Psychologists of Ohio

As part of my OPA work, I have the opportunity to interact with our Psychologists Retired of Ohio (PROs) group. This group is working hard to create a packet of materials to give to those retiring/ready to retire.

One possible thought at our last meeting was to offer Convention programming specific to retirement issues. Those could include selling/closing a practice, etc.

Let us know what you're interested in!

Interested in Webinars?

At the beginning of the membership year, the Education Committee tossed around the idea of doing webinars and podcasts for continuing education credit.

A webinar would allow you to listen and follow along with a PowerPoint presentation straight from your computer. A podcast would be audio only.

Would you be interested in this opportunity? Which do you prefer: webinars or podcasts? Give us your feedback!

Education Committee Call

The Education Committee met this morning, and as usual, we had a lot of tasks to complete.

We are looking to bring in a panel discussion on universal healthcare as the plenary session at OPA's Convention. We also have some possible keynote speakers to contact about psychologically healthy workplaces, Medicaid, etc. Hopefully we'll be able to annouce our keynote and plenary speaker by the end of March.

Our standalone workshop schedule is almost complete. We've added an Ethics Roundtable for August 22 (a little over a week before the biennium ends) and a course with Dr. Sandy McPherson in August. Registration for these workshops will begin late March.

Thanks to the collaboration of the MCE and LGBT Committee, the Education Committee will unveil a new call for proposals for standalone workshops. Anyone will be able to access this form to complete if they are interested in presenting. Look for that to hit the Web site in the next few weeks.

The committee also reviewed proposals for the 2009 Convention...location to follow in the next month! Stay tuned!
